If there was one thing that Rain truly hated at the moment, it would most definitely be his entire life. He didn't want to admit it because living was surely better than it's opposite, but however much he thought about it Rain was realizing that he was starting to hate his life more and more.
There was an easy solution to his problem, but it was also the one thing Rain would not do. There was no way he'd get himself killed. He'd rather be miserable.
He wouldn't mind if he didn't have a sense of smell though, the streets stank of death, blood, rot, and overall filth. He'd do anything for a bath, especially after that last encounter with the zombies...
At least he was lucky enough to be in a group. One thing Rain learned fast was that he had to go back to the Buddy Rule he had in kindergarten up to grade three. "Never go anywhere without a buddy!" His teachers all said. Well, he was certain to obey that rule now. Not like he never did before.
As Devan and Moon headed towards the bar and the rest of the group to the grocery store, Rain wondered if the freezers were still working. If they were, he knew right away which aisle he was searching first. Ice cream. Even in a world full of zombies there would always be time for a snack. Usually. Unless they were in a life or death situation where it was either snacking or living.
In that case, there would obviously be no time for ice cream and Rain would have to wait.
The group got closer to the store and Rain caught Zara talking to herself. Aim for the head wasn't something surprising to catch the girl saying, and Rain figured it was kind of like his Did you know? moments. Maybe, maybe not.
“Be careful, stick together, be safe.” Victoria said, and Rain couldn't remember exactly how many time's she said that within the past week. For the most part the group was careful(with the exception of Jace), stuck together(with the exception of Jace), and were usually safe(with the exception of Jace).
"Right." Rain agreed quietly, still wondering if the freezers were working.
