The pink-orange rays of the early morning sun streaked across the landscape. Star glanced at the morning star, her eyes quickly adjusting to the light. Her attitude was present in her stride.
Starlight was wearing her black dress and black leather boots. Her tail was hidden under the folds of the silky fabric, and she had a dark purple beret to cover her ears. She was known around these parts of the kingdom. Just to add style and affect, she wore a simple, silk black masquerade mask that covered most of her face, obscuring her identity. Her nose twitched, picking up scents from all directions. The edges of her mouth twitched with amusement as she entered the tavern. There were multiple drunk men loitered around the room, approaching women and some who looked like they were about to start fist fights.
This is where Queen Dream wished for me to meet her? How strange… Star snickered silently. She claimed a booth near a window, and sat down, pulling a knife from a concealed pocket. She twirled it in her fingers menacingly, showing that she meant business. Star propped her feet up on the table, and glared at the bar attendant. She flicked her wrist and the knife landed four inched from his face, imbedded in the cabinet behind him. He gasped and everything seemed to go silent.
“Excuse me good sir. If you don’t mind, give me something strong.” Star leaned back again, and the people in the bar turned back to their drinks and the noise level increased once more. The bar attendant came over and placed a tall glass and her knife on the table, bowed and walked off. Star’s steely gaze swept the room as she took a sip of the beverage, and practically coughed. It was really strong. She huffed out another breath, and took another sip, and eventually took to the strength of the alcohol. After a few moments, a light blush was present on her cheeks and nose as the alcohol took effect. But Star can take her liquor well, so her attitude did not change, except for the blush. She waited for Queen Dream patiently, and ordered another drink.
