He said out loud. Kioni gathered up everything that Nightfur had left behind that was part of her special spot and moved it to an almost identical tree. He ran back to his clans base, walked past its border into the humans territory. Once inside one of the humans dwellings, which he accessed through a doggy door, he acquired another ball of string a small blanket, and a feather toy. He carried them back one by one to the tree he had set up for Nightfur, hoping that his efforts would make her forgive him. He arranged the things nicely, with the blanket laying on a bed of leaves so that she had something soft and warm to lay on. he placed the yarn in the tree hollow on the blanket and stuck the feather toy into a small hole above the hollow so it dangled down above the entrance of the tree hollow. Kioni sat next to the tree, determined not to move or rest until Nightfur came around.
