People once again took their seats in the room. That was good, the meeting had officially has started again. Now all everyone had to was make sure it didn't go up in flames.
President Anderson called for Marcus Pericles to speak first and the man stood up from his chair, "I must say, I feel Chieftain Nedilo has a point. This war did escalate dramatically. It will not be easy to convince the Council to agree to this union. As for what I think on this, I will have to give it some more thought when I head back to Mysticara."
Once he sat back down, Saul was chosen to speak next, "Prime Minister Lopez is a proud man. It would be no simple feat to convince him this proposed union would be the correct course of action, either. He truly does believe Mysticara to be a backwards society. Such a mentality is difficult to break. Personally, I would have to agree with Chieftain Nedilo and Miss Aspiral. The question is, will Parliament share that opinion? I suppose we shall find out, soon enough."
Calida nodded slowly, thinking about what both men had just said. The union did seem like the best option, it would be a win-win situation for both sides, and hopefully they'd remain at peace. But convincing the Parliament of Metargo and the Council of Mysticara would be a whole other matter.
"What does Queen Calida think about this scenario?"
Calida was surprised to see President Anderson looking at her. He was asking for her opinion on this? What could she say that others hadn't already?
Calida nodded and stood up, "I think the union is a wonderful idea and the right decision to make. However, I do agree that it will be difficult to have Prime Minister Lopez share those thoughts and agree with the proposition. Nevertheless, it is the Parliament who must decide whether or not they agree, and I can only hope that they do."
