"Since you are a leader within the Metargo Military, what is your opinion on this, Prince Leonardo?" Leonardo raised an eyebrow at this as he assumed they didn't need his input, but if they wanted another person to nod and repeat what the last person has said then he would do it. Placing his hands on his knees, Leonardo pushed himself up to his full height; his long hair flowing over his shoulder.
"I agree that the two nations enter into the cease-fire." Leonardo said, his soft voice carrying. A clever person would note that he said cease-fire and not peace, because that is what they all wanted. A temporary relief from the fighting which was a cease-fire, while claiming peace this and peace that tended to sound more poetic, it was nothing more then yet another temporary cease-fire. Another war would start between two other great nations in the next decade because that was the norm, but Metargo needed a respite to catch its breath.
"I believe the Admiral's arguments were targeted more towards our Mysticaran friends." Leonardo said as speaking about the environment was not usually the way to get through to the Metargo politicians if the amount of factories pumping pollution into the air was anything to judge. Not that Leonardo cared because he really didn't. He was sure the Mysticaran's were facing many troubles on the home-front with an invading army pounding at the door, but the situation in Metargo wasn't nearly as dire. The supply lines were getting thin and the amount of inflation raised, and wealth being poured into the war was starting to tell, but overall, Leonardo felt their nation was fairing better.
"It would be best for Metargo if her forces could rest. If our people could take a breath and enjoy the brief respite that such agreements bring." Also to build up strength for the next war, but Leonardo left that out. All nations did it, so it was not something that even needed to be said.
"If you are asking do I believe this cease-fire is anything more then a temporary respite for the two nations to draw breaths? No. I don't. Nor do I doubt that we couldn't get the Parliament to see our way as while it will be difficult with the constant bickering that are involved with politics, all you need is the proper leverage." Leonardo finished with a nod to his head towards the assembly and sat back down.
