Devon watched her turn to face him, then she rested her head on them, looking at him with those adorable blue eyes. "Do you really mean that? Or are you still just interested in the chase?" He looked right into her eyes, leaning closer to her. "I'm sure you've heard a lot of things about me, I get it, but there's one rule that I never break." He brushed the hair away from her face, very lightly kissing her cheek before moving back to look at her.
"Even if it would be in my best interest, I won't say something unless I mean it. And I swear that this is no exception." He just hoped she would believe him. He tucked her hair behind her ear and then caressed her cheek. "Please say that you believe me."
