"Someone told me that a girl's tears are precious. So, I hid them. But, they are falling now without stopping for all to see. Does that mean it's not precious anymore?"
Then, there were the moments she wanted for Saken to enjoy life a bit more. She wanted him to live as a normal student even in such an environment they were in. He deserved that and so she did every little thing that would make her partner be more active with school activities. It was also why she had gained a certain animosity with that pink-haired friend of Saken. This is because he was her partner in being a prefect. Additionally, she took it upon herself to have him live on not burdened by a past. She knows how hard it could be to chained to a time that can never be changed.
How ironic, it was. It was because her past overlapped with her present. Saken did what her mother had done for her. Both acts were the same. Both acts garnered the same consequences. They were now both dead. She decided to be a hunter because she wanted to have the strength to protect. At the same time, she wanted to never experience such sad things again. But why did this happen again? Why did she become so helpless again? Someone, please tell her why do these kind of things have to happen over and over again? Why do people have to die for her? Why can't she do nothing about it?
Someone was calling her. She knew the voice belonged to the blue pure-blood. But, it felt so distant from her. She simply lowered her head more. Because, it only made her feel the rejecting reality was futile. Then, there it was again. Her name was called again. This time, her whole first name was used. The only ones who usually does that was her mother. Sometimes her father when he would give her a stern sermon. It was odd hearing it at this moment. She knew that voice was from Yukiko. Anyway, she simply bit her lower lip in response. She knew they meant well... But, she just wanted to be left alone with Saken. She still wanted to believe he was just sleeping. After all, she did tell him to get some shut-eye.
This time, there was another person near her. A hand proceeded to close those lifeless eyes of Saken. She did not slap it away but that gesture made something fall from her eyes. There was no use anymore. Saken was gone from her. This person near her was a stranger. His words floated through her like wind and did not hold ground. But, a hand was given to her to hold on to. It seemed, she was being asked to leave. From that point, she finally revealed her face that was hidden earlier. Sunset eyes looked at the one offering his hand. They were very captivating and a rare coloring even among vampires and even more so to humans.
But what made them tragically beautiful were the tears streaming down from them like a cascading river. It may be considered inconsiderate. But, she was very beautiful at this moment. She was so fragile and still had a sense of silent strength in her. "He was going to treat me lunch again..." Sera finally spoke after a long interval of silence from her end. One could hear from her voice alone how broken and sad she was. Her voice was trembling and incredibly melancholic. "He was going to show me that cute puppy he took in..." She slowly reached for the outreached hand but, it never connected.
Instead, she grabbed hold onto the stranger's collar. She hold onto it tightly. "Why does he have to die for me? I should be the one... I should be..." Sera was not able to finish her sentence as the emotional strain and coupled with the physical exhaustion of the recent event that happened not so long ago took over her. She lost consciousness once more as she fell backwards releasing her hold onto Saken and to the stranger's collar. Darkness encircled her world and it was not that different right now as her tears continued to fall from her eyes even when they had finally closed.
