The place was filling up like usual for this time of the week, and Will found himself on his third glass of whiskey. He'd been in the bar for a few hours now, but business was slow, so he was taking it easy. Partly for his liver's sake, mostly for that of his wallet. While drinking away the afternoon he had also been going over the notes from his last case. It was your typical private eye case- woman suspects her husband of cheating, wants proof one way or the other. In this instance the woman's fear had been grounded in reality.

Will wasn't a betting man, but if he were, his money would be that the wife got everything in the divorce.

He also wasn't the kind to stick his nose where it didn't belong. Once he found out whatever it was he needed to find out and got paid, he never saw hide nor hair of the client again. Unless of course they needed his help again. Private detectives like Will lived from case to case, so he never took anything personal. One day he might be working for Mr. Smith, the next day Mrs. Smith. Sometimes things got hairy in those situations, but that's why he still stayed in touch with his buddy down at the station. A quick call and he could have a cop car come around and calm things down.

"You want another glass?" Angela asks, leaning one elbow against the table as she looks down at Will and his empty glass, giving him a wink when he looks up. "On a night like this you've usually had a few more. Something wrong?"

"Business is just a little slow lately, trying not to blow the rest of my paycheck on booze." Will says with a smile, returning the wink. Angela was a bit of a flirt to the guys who actually treated her decently. She was single, but had yet to actually accept any offers for a date from anyone as far as Will knew. Then again, even a detective could get things wrong every once in a while. Maybe she was seeing someone. He didn't mind the attention though. "I think that'll do me for the whiskey tonight Angela, how about a beer? Whatever Jack has handy."

With a nod Angela stands up straight and makes her way over to the bar. Shaking his head Will watches her go, then his eyes catch a somewhat familiar face sitting at a table not to far away. He thought the woman's name was Amelia, or something along those lines. The two of them had never spoke but he had heard her speaking with Angela before. From what he had observed of her she probably worked in an office. Judging by her usual attire and how she took her shoes off as soon as she sat down. What she did in that office he hadn't the foggiest, and knew this much only because of the skills that got him his bread and butter...and whiskey.

"And here I thought I was more your type." Angela says with a smirk as she sets a cold bottle down before Will.

"Hmm? Damn, was I staring?" Will says with a laugh, rubbing the back of his head. "Sorry, got stuck in detective mode again. She looks kind of like my last client, just trying to make sure. After that case I doubt she'd be wanting to have me in the same room."
