As Ciel came around the corner, Ben stood up. Now that they were face to face, Ceil realized that she had sounded like a screaming idiot. She had figured she would apologize but her mouth was dry and words failed to find her, shriveling up inside the back of her throat. But the was no need for her to speak as Ben made the first move, “Sorry I walked away, I didn't mean to creep you out, and that demon just riles me up." He blushed cutely, apparently embarrassed.
Ciel was in shock. How good was this guy to apologize right after she had screamed at him? He really is an Angel, she thought, a bit of bitter jealousy intertwining with her need to make up with him.
“I’m sorry as well. I-“ She stopped short unsure of what to say next. “I’m just totally bewildered. I don’t know who you are. Well that’s obvious; I only met you today- Who’s Patient One?” She cut herself off abruptly as she had begun to ramble. She really didn’t want to make a fool out of herself again.
Ciel looked up and scrutinized Ben’s face. He was a stranger, there was no doubt about that. But he was familiar, his eyes warm and calming. She looked straight into his glassy orbs, trying to figure out the hidden meaning behind them. All she saw was her reflection.
