Eventually Isaac had to decide that he was done. The strings felt soft beneath the tips of his fingers, but the bow was beginning to cut into the palm of his hand, and he was undecided on whether or not he truly wanted to play anything else later in the day. Always best to keep this hand in good condition, in case I change my mind on that... He picked up the sheet music gently, flipping through the pages with quick haste. He had played 'None but the Lonely Hearts' several times now, switching between 'Romance' and 'Film Credits'. One was a trio, and the other was a quartet; but the melodies were both beautiful, somber, and resilient in the surroundings he was in. He thought it was a gorgeous echo, though the untrained ear could easily mistake it for none.
He picked the case up, placing the violin inside, and zipped it shut with a sad smile. He had named it 'Jolienne' after his sister, because she had always loved the sound and character of it; her favorite song was 'Romance'. And Isaac had always loved playing it for her.
Quickly, he trotted over to the trunk of his car, and grabbed two other cases. He put them on the ground, to allow himself to close the trunk door, and picked them back up with a soft frown. He had forgotten which case belonged to what instrument, most of the time, but he could only hope they would be useful. I'm feeling much too lazy to come back out here, for another one... Well, I guess the piano will have to do, if it comes to that.
