Jared listened to the girl’s idea to sleep deep in the cave and he nodded. When she brought up running away, he saw that the two of them had done the same as him and he wondered if they had had any trouble in their respective clans.
“I agree. Clans… well, mine was complicated,” he said shrugging. Jared walked to the edge of the cave and looked into it. The dark walls were reflecting the last of the available sunlight and getting darker by the second. He turned back to the two of them and said, “I don’t have much to offer for the fire, but I have some strawberries.” He held up the bag. “There should be enough for all of us.”
