It is almost dark when I swim out to Acaralea's house. I decide on the way I will call her Aca, her pet name. Maybe she'll even respond positively. My mom says that in order to charm a girl "You need to make her feel comfortable. Don't worry about being big and brawny, be yourself." great advice I suppose. It works on every girl except Aca. When I smile at most girls they melt. I smile at Aca and she just smiles back. I wish that I could make her like me. I am so distracted that I hardly realize when I pull up at her house. I Climb out of the river and force myself to walk. My heart is thumping, but I tell myself that all I'm doing is coming to tell her the details of our mission. When I chose my people, I knew Rashonn was sick. I had already picked Michael and Aca, but I knew speculation would fly if she was my first pick. I reach the door and knick. After what feels like forever Aca opens the door. She looks surprised and my heart sinks. So she didn't know I was here. She says "Marqun? Come in." I follow her in and sit at the table. There is a book titled "Red Herring: The obtrusive history of spying" on the table which Aca quickly puts away. "This is an unexpected surprise," she says, "What are you doing here?" I quickly recite my information. And then I tell her about the dress. My face twists into a smile and I have to laugh at her face. She punches me and we laugh harder. I am beginning to relax when Janala comes in and ruins it all. She doesn't know of course, but she ruins it all the same. Janala is pretty and of course I stared at her, more out of shock then anything. Then I see Aca's face. She boots me out before I can say a word. I want to cry but oh well. However, there is some hope. Maybe, based on her reaction, Aca likes me after all.
