Ah-quaz:
I am getting pretty far in my council training. I need to have experience outside of the peacock nation, if only I was my sister, she has tons of experience! Speaking of Zoozoo-um, she is home now! She sits me down on the soft couch.
"Ah-quaz, when I tell you this you have to swear not to tell anybody." she says in a harsh voice. I slowly nod.
"I am beetlestealer, I just want to let you know because I was informed that you have to go to get experience in another nation. Treat rhino beetles with respect, as you would want them to respect you. I will have Ah-de go with you to a small tribe..."
Why does she want me to go to this specific tribe? I trust her, she's everything I want to be, but she doesnt care about beauty and love. I want to marry and have my own family, she doesn't seem to care about that. I look up to her for that, but I couldn't do that. She begins speaking to a rhino beetle, Zhullen. She speaks with her as an equal, Zoozoo-um is just amazing. My sister introduces me to Ah-de, he bows to me, but as soon as he opens his mouth, I realize he isn't as eloquent as I thought he was.
"So this is my future wife, you told me about Zoozoo-um?" He says, his eyes smiling. Zoozoo-um shoots him an angry look and looks back at me.
"He's just joking Ah-quaz. i chose him to take you because he would entertain you more than those other, serious peacocks in the army."
I look at him. He has blonde hair and green-hazel eyes. His feathers are extravagant, they are many shades of blue, green, and a light brown. The eye spots on his feathers especially catch my eye. Enough fawning over him, I know Zoozoo-um picked him for more than what she said she did.
There is a long journey to this strange tribe and I have to go with Ah-de. He seems to know the way. When we reach the pronghorn border, he abruptly stops and says "Ladies first" I giggle at his flirtatious facial expression, but I stop myself. This makes me seem like an idiot! After a lot of walking, I am very tired, but Ah-de seems fine.
"It's the army training, I am used to walking much farther. What do you want me to do, carry you?" Ah-de asks.
"Maybe, if it'll get us there sooner"
He lifts me up and starts running.
"I didn't mean it seriously!" I yell at him, protesting to being carried.
"Don't worry, we're close."
It wasn't close enough, I was carried long enough for it to get really awkward. He puts me down finally and says "We're here, it's a tribe of loners, I don't know why Zoozoo-um would make you go here"
We go near the tribe and I spot a rhino beetle. I run over to the tribe and Ah-de follows.
"What are you doing here?" A fox loner asks me.
"I-I am here for council training, my sister wanted me to come here. I don't know why!" I stutter, I'm not used to fighting and she seemed angry. My sister isn't afraid of anything, she would know what to do. Why didn't she come with me?!
The rhino beetle seems interested in what is happening, I hope she isn't a slave, she's so young. I look back at Ah-de, his green-hazel eyes burning with concern. He nods as to say he has my back if anything goes wrong.
