Completely lost in his own world Troy would flinch a bit when Star placed her hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, are you okay? Where are we?" she'd ask, and he'd glance past her to the house as he responded.
"It's a Cabin that belongs to my grandparents, no one knows about this place so I thought it would be better than immediately running for the state border - which they're probably expecting us to do."
The sounds of crickets an a resident owl were all around them, and Troy would take the noises in for a moment before speaking up again.
"I'm sorry for bringing this all on you guys so abruptly. I was selfish as a kid, I just wanted to forget about Timothy Hopkins and theses powers an act normal. But maybe if I would of tracked you guys down sooner we could of been better prepared....."
Shoving his hands in his pants pockets Troy would kick at the dirt on the ground a couple times before looking back at the Cabin again - a small smile forming on his face.
"Come on, there should be something to eat in the deep freezers out back."
Troy would wave Star along as he walked around the side of the cabin and then up to a small but cleanly built shack.
It was nearly black out and the light in the small enclosure was out, but thankfully the light inside the freezers worked.
"Empty..." he'd say before closing one, however when he opened the other a tentative smile would appear on his face. There were several frozen Rainbow trouts and Bass, an underneath them Troy would also find a couple of frozen Pizzas.
"Fish and Pizza, that goes together perfectly." he'd joke, before grabbing a large Bass, Trout, and both boxes of pizza.
After making his way back inside the Cabin he'd turn a light on in the kitchen, fill the sink up, then drop the beheaded & deboned fish into the water. Troy then turned the oven on before taking a seat on a stool at the Kitchen's bar and resting his forehead in the palm of his hands.
"Shouldn't take long for the oven to warm up, by then the fish should be defrosted.....steamer can have them cooked in under 10 minutes. There's probably some drinks in the refrigerator but nothing much more than or condiments.....we usually bring food when we come out here." he'd say to no one in particular, before sighing softly.
To be honest he wasn't all that interested in eating, his body was exhausted and his mind was racing with a million different questions.
"Oh, there are three bedrooms upstairs if you want, I plan on staying down here."
