”Best not unleash the beast, who would protect you?”

Oasis personally liked the quiet. She wasn’t fond of the loud noises that could be heard back home of Feathermount. They were too loud, too obnoxious that it just gave the young woman a terrible headache. Any other day, she would have followed orders and stay put like she was told, but she needed meditation, she needed a way to calm down her nerves because her buttons were indeed being pushed. That Piper girl was just too much to handle. It was almost suffocating Oasis to even be in the same room as her. Instead of being an adult and putting up with her, she was an adult calming down out in the woods. Meditation was a favored way to calm down, that, and archery. She was pretty talented with a bow and arrow, most were surprised.

It wasn’t animals she hunted and it wasn’t animals she used as target practice. It was far away trees and small fruits and fish that served as entertainment and learning. Her red curls were pinned back to keep from flying in front of her eyes. Her eyes… there was always something about her eyes that intrigued others, or warned others away. Her mother, despite her father’s insistence, named her Oasis because of how crystal blue her gaze had been the second she was born. Many thought she would grow out of the color, like most newborn infants had done, but her eyes remained the same.

They were filled with deep concentration. They stared at the single apple that hung from the lowest branch several long yards away from where she stood. Her finger rested against her lip as she kept her arrow aimed and her bowstring drawn. Her chest moved, the white robe she wore hanging loosely from her arms. Traveling robes, as one would call them, in order to keep her clothing underneath clean and in tact. She despised them but they were insisted.

She took a deep breath and slowly released it as she concentrated on the juice-filled fruit. It was a still target, which, she didn’t mind all that much about. With another small breath of air, Oasis focused her attention on her arrow. It was made of redwood, carved with beautiful designs and the feathers were that of an eagle. The arrowhead was made of stone and diamond. Where she had found such a beautiful piece of diamond remained a secret. She knew the woods like they were the back of her hand, that, and the secrets they held.

It was time now. She could feel her fingers itching to release the arrow through the air. Her eyes narrowed slightly and her hand was soon to release it. However, she was unable to. She heard the bell and a sigh escaped her lips. Her bow was lowered and her arrow was returned to its place upon her back.

“Alright, alright.” She murmured, staring her walk back to the fort.

”I will knock you back to last Tuesday.”

Oh how she wanted to suffocate that girl! Just everything about Oasis just made her so angry, it made no sense to her, none, zilch. Of course, she was going to move on and not dwell on it, but…ugh, she had never disliked someone so much in her life. Piper, or Pan as most called her, plopped herself down in a window, which overlooked the courtyard. She was dressed in white clothing, a black band across her forehead and a long necklace rested around her neck.

Piper Ann Baker was gifted the power of air. At first, she figured it was because she seemed like a free spirit and it would suit her. Now that she thought more about it, she wasn’t very sure. She just hoped she could fill the role perfectly and not have too much trouble with it. Pan was tired, exhausted really. She had been up late the night before, boiling things in the kitchens. She had made a few herbal medicines, things that would help stomach and head pains, as well as dizziness and the cold.

Pan had a few shadows beneath her eyes, but none too alarming. She was tired but she didn’t yawn or move as if she didn’t have any sleep the night before. Her eyes locked on the courtyard until the familiar sound of a bell echoed through the hall.

“Coming…” She whispered, as if someone could hear her. She didn't want to go but she knew she would have to. The girl quickly made her way to the fountain, settling herself on the opposite side, away from Jenny.
