|âI have no use for fleeting and wavering Dreams. I agree but then again, we are both dreams."|
It had been that way ever since. The Snow-White pure-blood will attend his classes, but then would vanish on his own. As if understanding, Luke would not bother his ward. It was because he knew for a fact that even with that stoic face, Zenith was saddened by the death of that human girl called, Haruka Yamazaki. She was probably one of the possible keys in unlocking the impregnable facade that the Rosenkreuz King hold. But, it was not able to bear fruit. It was truly a regretful thing. Then again, Luke had a suspicion. There was something more to this. His discussion with the Headmaster prompted him to think more about the pieces coming together to this Academy. Still, his responsibility was only to protect Zenith from harm.
Speaking of which, Zenith was out of sight again. He was currently at the library reading the only book that he does, Dracula. His eyes of gold were glued on to the olden pages which revealed about the possible existence of vampires. He flipped the pages with such grace and elegance. His face remained emotionless. Among the hallways, he could hear the footsteps and chatters of the student. Yet, he did not pay any heed to it. He was encased in his own world where no one existed but him. Somehow, he was completely fine with that. For the longest of time, he had been alone and that was something familiar and comfortable. After all, darkness had always been alone. It never meshes with anything or anyone at all. This is what he is.
Those words suddenly echoed through his mind. Luke asked him of that once when the news of Yamazaki's death was known. During that moment, Zenith answered swiftly without much of thought as well. His answer was no. But then again, he would not deny it to himself. He was indeed sad. The main reason he had told her to stay away was because, he did not want her to get hurt in the process. But, it was inevitable. She was further pulled in this bloody world. now, she was gone. Just like her sister, her sister who would never be by his side ever again. Then again, it could probably be for the best. They will be far from his reach, far from his hands. Because, all that he touches will be consumed with despair and death. This is what he truly believes in for that had always been the end result.
But, Zenith would not deny the fact. Yamazaki had indeed been something to him. What that could be? He could not pinpoint or fathom even now. Furthermore, there was no need to think about it any more. Because, that person was not existing in this world. But to say, she has no influence on his actions would be a mistake for anyone to assume even to himself. That is why, he still does think the implication of Luke's words. It was then he felt a light breeze entering the room. His eyes raised to look for the source of the wind. It was none other than a window left opened by someone. He was not bothered by it. Instead, he was taken by the scent it carried. It contained Fujiwara's scent. He had heard the effect of Yamazaki's death brought to her. It would be a lie if he had not once thought to comfort her. But, that was not for him to do so.
Another thing, it also carried another scent. Something unknown. Something foreign. It must be a newcomer. A transfer student, Luke did inform him of this. However, he did not think on it for long. It was not something for him to be concerned about. But, this scent had something which took his interest. Still, he was not someone who could be prompted to act on bare curiosity alone. Thus, he simply only returned his attention to the book in his hands. Just like that, he continued his reading. He immersed himself into his own closed-off world. In a place, where he had deemed no one could reach him. A place where no one was allowed to enter it.
While outside the library, Luke was simply standing by the entrance door. His arms were crossed over his chest as he sighed in a rather disappointed one. "That boy never changes." He closed his eyes and had a sad smile upon his lips. "But, I guess that is for the best..."
