William was on a grassy knoll with the sun shining in full force down upon him. The knoll was surrounded by a great dark forest. The darkness did not feel malevolent though, as it was more calming and tranquil. There was a single flower on the grassy knoll, a dandelion and a gentle wind came upon him and wrapped them in its warm embrace carrying them off. He felt peaceful and yet a great sadness came upon him. He could not tell why, and could not even tell why he was here. There was a voice that crashed through the tranquility of this place and got louder and louder. He slowly opened his eyes to receive the morning. He now realized this was a dream and it was painfully slipping from his mind.

He realized where he was now and remembered the school he now attended. He got up and began to make coffee, deciding that he would abstain from breakfast. He knew why he was having these dream but was unable to grasp their full meaning. Hopefully, being mostly locked away from the outside world he could face his demons in peace. He should have become a monk. Although, while he and his family were devout Roman Catholics; coming from a privileged background he was assured of the expectation to go into his families business. While this school offered the opportunity to understand and explore his unique gift, it more importantly gave him the opportunity to face his pain in a secluded setting.

He made coffee and sipped it while he read a passage from Plato's The Republic and felt like the man in the cave who was just shown the fire. William doesn't believe that he himself will ever come out of the cave, he can only hope he will one day. He showered, and got dressed; slipping on his Banana Republic khakis, and undershirt, and choosing a light blue Brook's shirt with his black belt he wore everyday. He loved to wear different kinds of clothes but never different belts. He brushed his teeth and slipped into his black dress shoes. He proceed to the main hall wondering what the day would bring.
