The men continued approaching, seemingly unafraid of the larger, stronger, creature before them. Any of them that were afraid were conditioned not to show it. It was a prison mentality being applied to the outside world.
"It's stupid or something." One of the men said, "Hey! We told you to leave. We were feeling nice." The lead thug told the Golem, reaching into his jacket to retrieve a weapon.
"How much can you take?" He asked sadistically, clearly meaning to attack the creature for some sadistic entertainment. "How much?" He asked again, the other men reaching for their own weapons now.
Their intent was clear, they were going to see just much they could wear down the golem.
