Midas didn't move even as it was approached. Truth be told it couldn't. It lay face down in the alley way, its now open chest hidden from sight. It was regenerating, slowly. The progress on its food would be slow and almost imperceptible as its superficial damage was repaired much more quickly.
If one looked closely the nicks and pits from the bullet impacts on its stone skin would slowly begin to disappear. It's cracked eye didn't even move as it lay there. This all banked on no one pulling the crystal out of its now open chest, but with the heavy creature face down on the ground that would be unlikely.
