Asmodeus was all too aware of the woman who lay in his arms. Her breathing was even, her purple hair splayed across his bare chest, where her head lay. As much as he knew he should regret what they did because of what he planned to do now, but he couldn't. It made no sense. But it didn't change his decision. He knew what he had to do. He slid out from underneath her, making sure not to wake her.
With some hesitation, he placed a kiss on her temple, afterwards turning on his heel and vanishing in the shadows before he could think twice. But that didn't stop his heart from breaking. He was going to break his promise. "I'm so sorry, Kazehana. Please...forgive me."
He was walking briskly towards Central Park, his sleeveless trench coat billowing out behind him. There was a hard expression on his face, but tears were silently falling from his eyes.
"She's not going to forgive you. She's not going to have a reason to."
Morgan's voice rang out through the night, the frigid air around the white-haired Demon suddenly turning even colder. The concrete below his feet froze over, the ice slowly crawling up his legs. Asmodeus tried to move, but he couldn't. The ice held him in place. His lips pulled back in a snarl. "Morgan! What are you doing?"
The red-haired demon emerged from the shadows. "I'm saving you, brother. I cannot let you go through with this. You have to be here for Kaz. She's going to need you. If I have to freeze you through, I will. This ends with me, Asmodeus."
As he spoke, the ice had made it's way to his chest. Asmodeu's eyes widened. "Morgan, no. Don't do this. I said it would be me. Morgan! Don't!"
Morgan only smiled sadly at Asmodeus, and turned away from him as Asmodeus was completely encased in ice. It wouldn't kill him, but it would keep him out of the picture for a while. Long enough for him to do what he had to do anyway. Asmodeus's eyes widened even below the ice as he watched Morgan walk away.
