Dexter Morrison, was a private detective by day and a lover by night. Yesterday had gone great. Dex wrapped up a case involving a robbed donut shop and made it rain on a new honey he picked up at the bar. Everything was going great until... Briiiiing! The sound of a new text.
Awh great, not now! These are my off hours and they know it! Hm, they do know that, maybe it's important. I'll just take a peek...
"Dex! You're not seriously gonna answer that, are you?" Asked the feisty blonde.
"Goddammit," Dexter whispered under his breath. "Listen babe, this is my work phone. I'm a detective, remember? They're probably desperate for my skill set..." Dex's eyes traced part of the message and stopped when he saw the words 'Handprint Killer.' He had worked a bit on the first case, but his role was majorly downplayed. If this is the real deal, he knew he could score much more recognition and the dough that comes with it. Dex leapt out of bed and started shuffling for his pants.
"You can't be serious!"
"I'm sorry, honey. This is urgent, they need me down at the station now!" Dex finished scrambling to put on his pants and shirt. He turned to the lady, whose name he had honestly forgotten and smirked as the thoughts of working this case danced in his head. "There's some change on the coffee table for a cab. You can freshen up and leave when you like, but if you try to swipe anything I'll bring you with me to the station next time I go down."
Dex cheekily blew her a kiss and darted out the door and on his way to the station.

Upon arriving at the station, Dex saw most of the cops gathered around the Chief, ready to debrief the uniforms on what the hell is going down.
