The door of room 216 was slammed open with sudden force. Ling ran into the room and stood in front of the class.
"Sorry for being late, teacher! I was helping seven of my nine siblings find what they needed for school." The girl then turned to her classmates.
"My name is Ling Tao... or should I say Tao Ling?" It has been years ever since she came to Japan and she still couldn't get used to it when people reversed their first names and surnames.
"Call me Ling. I'm from China and I can't wait to make friends here, in this school, since the last one burned down!"
Ling would rarely feel embarrased by being the center of attention after doing something noisy. Most people would be in social hell, but not this girl.
"Sorry for interrupting the class!" Ling bowed to the teacher and found a seat.
The girl was filled with hopes for finding friends and having unforgettable experiences.
