During the start of class, things were taking forever. The whole lesson was dragging on, and material was covered that Aaron already knew. Of course during the lecture, he began to doze off. Aaron began to think on why they closed this part off of the forest. He had to do with the closing, because of the things that happened last year. Terrible events led to a nasty death of a friend, and the expulsion of another. It wasn't the happiest memory he had last year, in fact most of his sophomore year was filled with awesome events that helped him make history at this school. Although, he couldn't take all the credit, even though his other friends are gone, they still had things that they were credited for. This blows... Sibran, I hope you're doing okay. Maria, I hope your new school is treating you well. Aaron thought this as the class began to get up from the grass. 'Okay class, we're going to get into groups so pair up. There are 19 of you, so one of you will be alone.' The teacher explained, and from the looks of it no one wanted to be with Aaron so he's going in it alone. 'Alright class, this seminar is to test your knowledge of the forest and to see who truly deserves to be in this class. Just because you enrolled in this class, does not mean you are worthy of a slot.' Mr. Linaria warned. 'There are 19 of you starting out this seminar, but at the end of the seminar there will only be ten spots. The first ten students who truly show knowledge of the subject matter will be recognized as worthy. We will begin shortly.' Mr. Linaria finished.
The next few minutes seemed to drag on. Aaron was worried he wouldn't make it to the top ten spots. Looking around, these students had the upper hand, they have been studying longer and gone to school longer than Aaron has. This is definitely not going to come easy. The warning bell went off signaling the students to gather up at the entrance of the seminar. The green light shone soon after signaling all the students to enter and begin. Aaron got to the first part and surprisingly enough, it was a lot of the basic material covered in previous courses. Aaron was shocked as to how fast he was flying through this. Finishing first was definitely shocking to everyone else. As it progresses, Aaron began to lose his lead. Approaching the eighth part of the seminar, he knew he had to step it up before the tenth and final part. Each part got progressively harder and harder. What seemed like an hour, Aaron arrived to the final part of the seminar. He knew he wasn't first, and as more people finished, he realized that the top ten would soon be finished. Moments later, Mr. Linaria announced that eight spots were now filled. Frantically, Aaron noticed a pair of guys working on the same task. Freaking on he started to rush, and as he was about to finish the task, the other team rushed past him and headed for the finish. Aaron finished soon after and rushed as fast as he could to beat the group of guys. In the end, both guys were too far ahead, taking the last two spots. Aaron's heart sank, and had no option but to finish in 11th place. Looking at Mr. Linaria Aaron spoke, "Well, that was a hard seminar. I can't say I'm happy that I'm leaving considering how close I was, but I am happy to say that I am glad I was a part of this. I can't imagine how much harder this course will be." With that he started heading for the commons. He didn't even get far, because he felt a tug on his arm. It was Mr. Linaria, and Aaron just looked at him with a puzzled face. 'Aaron wait, there has been good and bad news. The bad news is that one of the boys that finished in front of you didn't complete the seminar properly. Making him disqualified from the top ten. The good news is since you were the first runner up, you are technically in the top ten then. That is, if you accept." Mr. Linaria looked at me, and Aaron to him. "I would love to take the final spot, this is great." Aaron said trying to compose himself. 'Good, class begins at five in the morning Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays. I will not tolerate tardiness. Looking forward to have you in class Aaron." With that, he left and deliver the news to the rest of the class. Aaron waved at the man, and started for the his room. Today has been a long day. I'm gonna take a nap. He thought as he entered his room. Aaron flopped on his bed and closed his eyes, playing back the events that happened today.
