Casey smiles, making a small face at the mention of slytherin. "Personally, I think Ravenclaw is more fun. It's... more spontaneous, less strict, and more creative. My brother's in his fifth year in Ravenclaw and loves it. Besides, blue's my favorite color," Casey says with a smile as she takes a bite of macaroni, something her mother sometimes made for her as a fun little joke. Muggles always ate macaroni according to Casey's friend who was one. It was a really good food, but different from what Casey was usually used to. She had been surprised to find it at the table. Maybe it was just something her family personally didn't eat.
"So your dad went here did he? That sounds interesting. My father was a Gryffindor and my mother a Ravenclaw. I think both are great houses, especially their quidditch teams," Casey says as she looks around, wondering what it would have been like for her parents to have been here, sat where she sat, eaten this food, worn similar robes. It was almost crazy how much they could have done that Casey would do herself. This Willow didn't seem bad at all, interesting in fact. She seemed like a nice person even if she wasn't really happy now.
Casey noticed another fellow that had recently been put in Ravenclaw. Wasn't his name Cyrus? That must be it, Casey rarely forgot names. She smiled at him before taking a sip of her drink, washing down the cheesy food that was macaroni. Casey played with her fork, pushing some food around on her plate as she looked down the table at the variety of witches and wizards as well as foods. There were some foods from different countries which was quite interesting.
Casey realized how her head seemed to flit from one subject to the next, looking for something to be fascinated about before moving on. That wasn't something that normally happened. Normally Casey was curious and thoughtful, but not scatter brained. It must be all the new sights and smells and surroundings that surrounded her. That could do such a thing to someone, right? Yeah, sure.
