Tristan jolted in surprise at the scream from Maceknzie he pulled her close with his large arms, he rubbed his face against her head growling softly to let her know that he was there for her. " it's okay, I'm here. your safe...I'm so so sorry for not being there. I promise I'll get us out of here...it may take me a while but we will get out. Your going to stay with me."

He held Mackenzie close to him rubbing her back softly until the sun rose and the fur melted away. He sighed softly his body tired from the change and the combined lack of sleep and food was making his body weak but he didn't want to fall asleep just yet he was still thinking about what Wolfe had said about him not knowing when they would be freed. The wolf could only take so long behind bars and Tristan would have to work out what would have to be done, would he have to escape? Or would he have to bide his time and ask for release along with Maceknzie so they would be safe. Perhaps if they moved away, made a home in another forest, maybe then they would be safe.

He then wondered what would be in store today, he hoped that Mackenzie would be left alone today and he would be tested on instead, Tristan was used to pain Mackenzie wasn't.
