As Jason lowered his gun, Cináed let himself relax to a degree, the tension that he hadn't noticed in his muscles releasing. He seemed almost to shrink from trying to square off with confidence against the angered militiaman back to the shaken youth who had just witnessed a shooting. He avoided Jason's eyes, fearing that he'd managed to incite the ire of yet another of the expedition's informal leaders in the space of ten minutes.
