”45, 44, 43...” Darcy noticed that the other humans started to wake up. ”Good. And now...Run!” She tried not to shout it aloud which was hard for her. She watched the African girl and saw a dagger in her hand. ”Hopefully she can use it...”
The tense in the air around her grew. She acted like she wouldn't care what was going to happen, leisurely leaning towards the tree, but others were literally here for blood. Well except one. Darcy glanced over at vampire with golden eyes. He seemed to be nervous. It confused her. Vampires needed human blood to survive, right? Shouldn't this be a feast to him?
She looked back to humans again. How they could survive? Even if they could fight, they were weaker and slower. Darcy sighed in her mind and closed her eyes. "You might as well show yourselves, we know you're here!" she suddenly heard the shout. Darcy froze but luckily no one of the paranormals dashed forward.
She relaxed again, knowing the humans would now have more time to escape but her relief last only a second. ”31, 30, 29...” And then she heard the crash. The same vampire Darcy had observed earlier had fallen off from the tree, right next to the humans.
She slowly rose her left hand asking everyone to wait. She had no idea what to do. If the other decided to go after they prey she couldn't stop them. Only thing Darcy knew for sure was that she would be in trouble.
