Snippet #2493985

located in The Beach and dock, a part of Island of Doctor Moreau, one of the many universes on RPG.

The Beach and dock

The beach is made up of white sands which sprawls out around the entire island. There's only one dock left intact to the Southeast. Its rare to see a boat enter, and almost never leaves.

The hope was to trip up Tex enough so they could wiggle free. Or at least put some fear back into that bird brain of his. Instead they would suffer the mistake of forgetting to take one important thing into account. His toothy beak peaks at the strap on the backpack. It didn't matter whether he hit or missed his target since they could still feel the full force of the violent hits. For a freak of nature his strength was nothing to shake a stick at. He was strong enough, with his beak alone to lift their chest up from the ground and then shake them violently before dropping them down to hit the ground hard. Each hit and every peck would cause a yelp of pain and each time their grip on them would weaken until they finally relinquished their grasp altogether, falling back to the ground, going limp.

Evan stepped back a moment to take in if Crombie was actually blind or not when his hand was pushed away. "Huh." He could see the clouding in his eyes. Was he really blind? It was possible that he wasn't completely blind, but, enough that he needed that walking stick. It was a miracle that he could wander all the way out here. He had to have taken a good couple of tumbles. Could have given up before making it more than a few steps from the facility. "They really lowered their standards on-"

"HEY! I HOPE YOU AREN'T THINKIN' ABOUT MAKING OFF WITH THOSE!" Evan jolted, not expecting Varin to come his way. He didn't even remember that he was on the boat. In a long pause he gives the guy a look over and noticed the net full of items slung over his shoulder. "Look who's talking!" Though he stops himself from saying anything else before giving it thought. That's right, as if he would be able to keep any of this without a good half of it, if not all being confiscated once taken to the Facility. "You and me both, I got a place we can both stash this. Talk about the details later till this blows over." He was only aware that Varin was looking out for himself. The stuff that he had, he didn't care so much about. He just wanted to be able to ensure a way to avoid losing the cans he held.

"If you want the stuff from the boat that badly. Take mine!" Violet's noble act comes through a bit late. But had it have been made a few seconds later would have been completely overshadowed by what came next.

The stream next to Tex seemed to explode with the ferocity of a depth charge. Rows of sharp teeth inside a gaping maw will be what Tex sees; snapping as they come straight for him. Whether he lets go of the bag or not, matters only if he wanted to decrease his likelihood to have his legs raked by such teeth. It was Alex with all of his bulk that would more likely cause a considerable amount of damage to the lighter party. He landed hard on the sand but it didn't do much to phase him. He immediately goes for what everyone is fighting over. He grabs the bag in his mouth then swings his body up and back towards the water. The original holder of the pack ends up slipping free. What was certain would be that Tex was going to go for a swim with Alex if he didn't let go. Like a huge bull seal he wriggled himself just enough so that he could flail himself back into the water with prize in mouth.

Getting a second wind and freed from under Tex's and the bag's weight they limped their way over to the closest tree. With their good leg they jump up to grab the lowest branch. The pain was evident despite being nearly covered from head to toe. Claws scraped at the bark. No matter how hard they tried there was no way that they could lift their injured arm to the next branch. Before long they lose their footing. Frantic scratching does nothing to stop their decent and they fall back to the sandy ground like a pile of dirty laundry, half curled. They didn't attempt to get up or move after that.
