Jessamine watched for a reaction, her eyes twinkling slightly from her curiosity and interest at what Elijah had to say or thought. He didn't seem bored or uninterested and seemed to be taking her words seriously unlike most of the members of the resistance did. They all thought she was a stupid girl who did what she wanted and did what she was told though that was less often seen.

He tilted his head and Jessamine smiled slightly as she unconsciously did the same only less as she kept herself from showing it a lot. "I believe your full name to be lovely. Please, do not hold it against me if I forget and call you by it. I would not align myself on one particular side. It would do no good to allow myself to begin showing favoritism to either. However, even I must admit that the fighting is beginning to make me grow weary." Jessamine looked down as he talked of her name. She was blushing and the flush of color made her uncomfortable and nervous at the same time, as if she couldn't believe someone would say something nice to her after all this time. She felt a small thrill in her at the thought that someone else besides her didn't think the long name was extremely weird though she did believe it was somewhat long. She shook her head as if she wasn't going to hold it against him whatsoever. She ignored the glances given to the two of them, a human and an archangel interacting without any violence, appearing as friends even. It was somewhat strange. She just nodded tiredly at what he said. War, which was what they were at, made everyone tired and never came out with a true winner, both lost, both suffered, yet one appeared victorious in one way or another.

"You should be careful with the beings you speak with. As you pointed out, the world has become quite dangerous. It would be a much duller place should anything happen to you." Only then did he look away and Jessamine smiled slightly, thoughtful as to why he seemed so interested. She followed his gaze and smiled realistic at the people dancing. She wasn't one for it really as she never had time and never had anyone to dance with. She smiled as she recognized a song that she used to listen to growing up, something that would allow her to sway to it alongside her mother and father. She thought his words over. If only he knew whom he was talking to. Sure she didn't have a weapon and sure she had no desire whatsoever to attack anyone, but she was a member of the resistance. She wondered how many of her associates would kill the archangel before her without hesitation, would kill him and not care about him in any way whatsoever. Then she herself wondered, what would she do if she was told to face him? She shook the thought from her head without movement as she listened to his words.

"Where are my manners? Would you care to dance? This song is most lovely. It has been far too long since I last danced. Of course, if you would rather remain standing here..that is perfectly fine as well." Elijah said being a perfect gentleman. Jessamine considered, passing her now empty glass to a passing waiter and thanking him before turning to face Elijah all the way.

"That sounds like a wonderful idea, I can't stand in one place for a long time," She says as she offers her hand. When they were on the dance floor, she positioned one hand on his shoulder and the other in his hand, the one she had offered. She swayed slightly to the music, thankful that she was able to relax slightly even though she was dancing with someone she just met. She didn't know anything about him, in fact, she felt somewhat stiff as she moved.

It worried her that she could very well be dancing with the person who killed her loved ones, took her best friend, ruined her life. She thought about it as they moved, wondering what else she could possibly think of when she was with him until she knew for sure he hadn't done it. "Elijah, I... I'm sorry to ask but I really need to know... If we had met on the street, if you had met any human on the street, if we hadn't met like this, do you think it would have all ended the same way as it is now? Would we be dancing now? Or would there be... a worse ending?" She asks quietly so those around didn't hear, now knowing that this could tell her a lot about him. She wondered what he would say, whether she would be dancing with him in the next minute or so. "I'm sorry, I really am, but I really need to know," She whispers, not quite meeting his eyes as she looked at those around them, not wanting to see the hurt that might go into the eyes that she thinks she remembers so well. She didn't want to hurt him, she really didn't, but how could she know when they haven't learned anything quite yet about the other's past.
