Bachmann jumped, grabbing his pistol from his bed before he turned to face the intruder.He raised the weapon, but he did't fire. Not yet. Whoever this was it wasn't one of Jackson's people. And chances are he wasn't a hire. This was too personal for Jackson to hire someone.
"Who are you and what do we have to talk about?" Bachmann asked, "Why shouldn't I put a few holes in your chest? Or your face?" The mob hitman asked the intruder, "Most importantly, why should I listen?"
The answer probably had to do with the small team of men coming to kidnap Bachmann right now. Jackson leading his three cohorts up each flight of stairs slowly and carefully. They needed to see and hear before being seen and heard. Stealth was key to success.
"That was the third floor, right?" Jackson asked, "Fourth, I think." Mauricio answered, "You think?" Luis asked his friend, "Yeah, it was three up from the ground." Mauricio assured the others, taking a peek at the sawn-off he had hidden in his pants leg.
