Aubrey groaned as the light filtered in between her curtains. Yawning, she rolled to the side, only to fall out of bed. Curses, she thought. I can't even wake up properly in this tiny bed. She slowly stood up and zombie walked to her kitchen, making herself some toast. She had just begun to butter the now-burnt bread when she heard Emilee say, "I can see you didn't make me any."
Turning around, Aubrey just gave her friend a look before turning back to her toast, only to have it fly up and hit her in the face. She twisted around to glare at Emilee, and said, "I can see that you aren't getting any right now, bitch," while she grabbed for a towel. Wiping her face, she grabbed a piece of fresh toast from her plate and tossed it to Emilee, reaching into their fridge to grab a grape soda.
She popped it open and said, "You know, you're not a very good roommate. You hit me with toast," before realizing that she was late for work. Really late. Swearing, she ran up the stairs to change into some clothes, taking a quick glance at her outfit in the mirror before dashing downstairs and grabbing her bag, waving goodbye to Emilee as she ran outside and hopped on her bike. Why don't I just save the environment? Aubrey thought, irritated at herself for not getting a car. She finally arrived at the bakery, jumping off of her bike and locking to a pole outside of the bakery before running inside. She checked in, apologized for being late, and got to work in the back, baking a cake.
