Kris Metzger

Kris sighed and shook Fox's hand, clearing his throat. "Name's Kris. Kris Metzger. Er, look, I'm sorry about flippin' out on you like that. Ain't much like me to introduce myself by screamin' bloody murder. Damn kids out here tend to hop in and muck about soon as school lets out. Stirs up the golems and makes it harder to keep things in order. As for the golems, naw, that ain't voodoo or anything. I'm not gonna put my neck on the line and make a contract with a baron just to get the power to make a little bone critter run around. Just some old-world alchemy is all." Kris replied, leaning back into his seat. He glanced over at Thanos and gave him a little nod in greeting before turning his attention to Lifaria. "Afternoon, miss Deroove. If you don't mind, I'd appreciate it if you keep your little firey party trick out of my store this time. It was weeks 'fore the golems stopped trying to get the matches and try it on themselves. There're still char marks on the ceiling from those little experiments." Kris said casually, his voice slowly regaining it's more cultured accent.

Inside, the golems began teaming up, trying to get the duffel bag all the way out of the store. The golems all pushed and pulled in opposite directions, doing little more than irritating one another and wiggling the bag. Sweepy, however, took the bedlam inside as an excuse to wander over to Kris and everyone outside, clicking quietly in curiosity. He wandered around, observing everyone in turn before going to Kris and clambering onto his lap, satisfied with his observations. "You might be on to something with tellin' her to try for the team, Bridgette. Haven't been tackled like that since I was in high school. She's got some muscle on her, that's for sure." Kris chuckled, gesturing at Fox with one hand. The other hand began patting his pockets, searching for another cigar and finding it in the pocket of his vest.

Finally reaching a consensus, the golems still hard at work trying to push the bag into the street began making slow progress, gradually inching towards the door. However, their combined, but still minimal, strength wasn't enough to push it up over the threshold and they quickly devolved into croaking at each other and wiggling the bag again. Kris shook his head and glanced at the arguing golems. "All y'all! Leave the bag and get back to work. That's far enough for the damn thing." Kris ordered, causing the golems to scatter around the shop and work on various meaningless tasks. Satisfied, Kris popped the end of his cigar in his mouth and lit another match, lighting the cigar and puffing on it contentedly.
