Val looked at the king wonderingly and marveled at how the man could make marrying his daughter sound even more unappealing than before. Wasn't this trip suppose to reassure Val that the marriage will be successful and they would be happily married together ever after? He was expecting at least a fatherly threat that should he ever harm his daughter, he'd soon have his blade wedged so far deep into into his intestines, it'd scramble his brains. At least, that's what Val would say to any suitor of his future daughter. "And what sort of handling is your Majesty implying that the Princess requires?"

Oh, how interesting. Lorraine thought. She's lying. Though about what, Lorraine wasn't sure. She can spot a lie instinctively and by trusting the liar signs Lady Vivienne taught her, but she would be hard pressed to understand if the lie originated from being sorry that a lady had arrived with her future husband unwelcomed to Maree or if the princess didn't think of herself or Lorraine as delicate ladies.

"Oh tremendously so, my lady. I fear when I was first learning to ride, the horse was riding me and not the other way round as is proper!" She laughed at herself. "And yourself, Princess Amelie? Is riding your pleasure or do you pass your time with other follies?"
