“Lay it on me.” He smirked and tapped his cheek and she grinned and leaned over, kissing his cheek. “When have I ever brought you back jewelry, I’m not Eric. That boyfriend of yours is great with those generic gifts.” He teased and she rolled her eyes because he was right. When Eric bought her things, it was jewelry, or flowers, or pretty much something you could pick up anywhere. She liked items that were personal or one-of-a-kind. Even if it was off the wall weird, she didn't care, she liked having things no one else would ever have.
When they finished, Elijah stood and kissed her forehead and she smirked. “Wanna go for ride?” He smirked and she grinned. “We should probably go meet up with the others, see if they found your twin." Jade sighed and stood.
"Give me a minute." She said before slipping back into the living room and grabbing her bag, heading into the bathroom. Inside, she got her first look at herself and she winced. Her hair was an absolute mess, the white men's t-shirt she was wearing was covered in dirt, as were her legs, probably from passing out in that alley, and she had several bruises who's origins she didn't remember. She literally looked homeless.
Jade sighed and pulled the shirt off, tossing it in the trash before wiping her legs down with a towel to get the dirt off and brushing her hair out, already looking a million times better. She dug in her bag for some new clothes and slipped into a pair of ripped up black skinny jeans and a red tank top, tossing her new gun in the bag and sliding on her flip-flops before heading back to the kitchen with Elijah.
"Alright, I'm ready." She said with a smirk. "But I really don't want to have to face Jax yet, he'll call when he finds Harley." She smirked and passed him, heading for his liqour cabinet and pulling down a couple of bottles, turning to face him again. "How about we go to the beach and hang out?" She asked, raising a brow. "I mean, if you're dead-set on meeting up with the others, I guess fine, but lectures aren't exactly my forte." She smirked.
Ben waited for a moment before she finally came to, and, when she did, she moved quickly away from him. “Don’t touch me.” She breathed and he nodded, staying where he was while he watched her. She was in utter disbelief, that much was obvious, but he didn't blame her. She'd seen what she'd thought had been him dying and now there he was, sitting right in front of her. “Tell me who the fuck you are?” She asked like she couldn't believe it, like he was just some freakish look-alike.
He watched her facial expression change quickly from confusion and disbelief, to understanding, and finally, to anger. He stayed where he was when she slapped him, not letting himself get angry because he deserved it. He deserved everything she said to him, and he was suddenly just happy he was sober, because he probably wouldn't have been able to sit through that slap if he wasn't. Not even for Harley. He had yet to lay a hand on her, because, when they'd been together, she'd changed the stupid, arrogant boy she'd met into a man capable of loving someone other then himself. Then, when he'd had to fake his death and leave her, he'd become cold all over again. Mimi's death was a perfect example of that.
“What the fuck Benji!” She screamed “You fucking coward… Iif you didn’t want to marry me it’s called a break up.” She spat at him harshly and he winced, wondering if she knew that her brothers had been after him. Probably not. He didn't put it past Jax to take matters into his own hands, thinking he was doing what was best for Harley's saftey, kill him, and then tell her it had been some sort of tragic accident. And Eli had been after him too, but he hadn't been after him particularly, just anyone who belonged to his gang really, after what had happened to his family. “Because of you and your whole charade of faking your death, I’ve lost my fucking mind. How could you do that to me?” She said, pain in her voice clear, making him hate himself more.
He'd hated himself every single day for three years because of the pain he'd caused her, and yet, hearing it, was extremely different than imagining it. It hurt like a knife to the gut to hear her in pain and know it was his fault. "Harley," He sighed, holding her eyes. "I didn't do it because I didn't want to marry you." He shook his head and ran his fingers through his hair. He knew telling her about her brothers would get her pissed at them and possibly fuck up their relationship, but he had to come clean. It had been way too long.
"I did it because Jaxon and Elijah were dead set on hunting my ass down and killing me." He shrugged, shaking his head. "Not to mention my father on my back about marrying a Saint." He sighed and rolled his eyes. "I was scared shitless Harley, I didn't want your brothers to kill me, so I asked my dad what to do and he came up with a plan." Ben held her eyes. "It was a shitty plan, and I've been living with it for the past three years, driving myself nuts missing you. I'm sorry Baby, I never wanted to hurt you." He breathed, shaking his head.
