The girl surprised Marcey suddenly with her lack of hostility. With the returned laugh, Marcey breathed easily in confidence. Even more so, when the girl defended her as another figure made his presents known. It was sort of amazing, how it seemed everyone knew when something would happen before it did. Marcey felt anxious because of her new found oblivion and vulnerability. I guess that is why its good to have friends that growl, she laughed at her own thought.
A man stepped into the little moonlight there actually was and his facial features stood out majorly. "Why are we all still in the forest? Is this like some secret getaway now?" There was discomfort in his voice but his body shape seemed to fit the backdrop of the woods perfectly. Marcey smiled slightly with the thought of not being completely alone in the dark woods.
"Some of us got lost... and needed help getting back to the school." The girl replied to him, diminishing the smile Marcey had. She felt stupid or naive. Marcey somewhat wanted to just be lost again; to be away from the smarter, stronger, more dangerous things that surrounded her. It made the idea of wandering around helplessly a lot more comforting.
"Marcey?" She spun around, the desperateness in Kylee's voice rang out as she walked forward.
"I am over here Kylee. You're kinda amazing. I am not dead though I promise!" Marcey called out in response, and then stood awkwardly back turned to the pair she had just been talking to. Her last comment stung in her mouth as she struggled to remain standing. The silent buzzed.
