~ Union City, what could you say about it? It was a city made just recently, with the help mostly coming from those with superpowers, and it showed. The city looked to be technologically advanced, rumors had it someone with a superpower was responsible for this. In a world where you find strange new things popping up out of thin air, or hostile things waiting for their chance to snatch you up, this city was like a paradise in these harsh times. With the city being large, a transport system was made in order to help move people around. It's structure resembled that of a train, and it moved pretty quick, taking people from one end of the city to the other within just ten minutes. The only backside was that they could only be found underneath the city, and accidents still happened. ~
Gabriel was having a bad day, kind of. Right now his biggest concern was getting far away from an angry person. "What do you mean it can't move?!" Said angry person shouted at the conductor, who kept having to move away from the person's hands trying to grab a hold of him.
"Please, sir, calm down. It got caught up in an accident on the way here. Professional's are looking into it now."
"So I'm supposed to be late to work, all because one of those power people can't come down and fix it?!"
"Sir, please understand. Everyone else has lives, too. We aren't machines here, someone will come when they have the time!" The angry person didn't give another response, instead running off to find another way to get to work. Gabriel wondered if anyone had actually even named these vehicles that looked like trains. He thought of just calling them that, but people argued it just wasn't the same. It didn't matter to Gabriel, it looked like a train, it acted like a train, it was a train to him.
I might as well find something else to do, this is going to take hours to fix. Gabriel thought to himself, as he moved back to the stairs and sat down on them, as they rose up towards the surface. People preferred to stand on these things, like how they use to in malls and such, but Gabriel didn't want to waste energy standing around. Rubbing his nose for a few seconds, he turned his attention up, as he watched the city come within sight. Standing up to his feet, he waited until it got to the top before moving off them and going onward.
Well the fast option is out, so how am I going to get to the center of the city now? Gabriel had business there, he volunteered to help people who had been like him once, with portions of their minds lost. He usually was able to do a good job, but there were times when someone was just too far beyond his power. It made him wonder, how far could they go? They knew little about their situation, the people who claimed to have were gone. Somehow, Gabriel knew this was going to be a long day for him.
