The Alpha didn't seem too pleased. I notice that he looks at the three wolves that had surrounded me, pointedly the black one, disapprovingly. It was hard to keep a smirk off of my face. They must have been the boarder patrol that never showed up. "What's your name, loner?"

"Jazmine." Since he asked for her name, she supposed this meant he wouldn't kill her.

"And what is your father's name, Jazmine." Ha! So this old wolf knows how to talk to Loners. Loners never give info. about their own past pack, since they've cut ties with them, but if he asks about a family member, he'll be able to find out quite a bit. However, I don't like his question.

I brought my eyes up to meet the Alpha's, gaining growls and warnings from the circle of wolves. "I don't very much like being asked that, Alpha."

The Alpha's eyes flared at my challenge, "Oh, and why is that?"

Dangerous, Jazmine, dangerous. I can hear the threat in his voice. "..... Because his name was Matt O'Conner." My own voice sounded hollow as I reluctantly replied to the Alpha's question.

I watched the Alpha's eyes widen. Matt O'Conner was the name of the Alpha of the Red Rain pack, which was one of the strongest packs... until the were all massacred, of course... and it wasn't widely known that one of the pack wolves had survived. Of course, only I know why I'm the only survivor....

The Alpha seemed to think this over carefully. Some of the wolves obviously didn't believe me, but the only wolf that matters right now is the Alpha. "Alright. I'll accept your story and allow you to cross my territory, but only if you agree to my conditions. Understood?"

"....Yes." I lowered my eyes away from the Alpha's.

"First, you have to stay with my pack for two months. After that, you can leave. Second, you can't wander outside of the town without... an escort. Are these terms understood?"

I couldn't keep my mouth from dropping open. Are you freaking serious!?!? Ha! This old wolf doesn't believe me either! He's making me stay to test me. To see whether I really am who I say I am... But if these are his terms... "I agree, Alpha..." She didn't want to have to fight her way out.... And besides, she'd probably be able to sneak out of here on her own at some point.
