The chain of events that occurred had Riley nearly in tears. She'd heard the sound of a vehicle rushing up behind her, and she turned around in time to see it hit a rock, and go flying into a Pelican, which tipped into another Pelican, and they both went down to the ground. The Mongoose's driver, it seemed, had gotten the better part of the deal, and somehow was managing to limp away, back to Blue Base.

Once she'd gotten her laughter under control, she resumed her trek to Red Base, but didn't get far before she saw a form fall to the ground in front of her with a *thud*. The soldier slowly pushed off of the ground. Riley took special note of the black armor. Whether it was black normally, or had gotten that way as a result of the fiery explosion, she didn't know. All she knew was that the soldier was between her and Red Base.

Erring on the side of caution, she gave the figure a wide berth, and continued onwards, throwing glances backwards every now and then. Then, her motion sensor started acting up. She turned around to see him moving towards her. Acting more on instinct than anything else, she pulled her SMG up to a ready position.
