It was drawing several indigenous away from the Brakori fire; likely, the ones from the latter were meeting up with and alerting the former to the invaders. On top of that, it appeared that the Federation was moving in to usurp control of the planet. Their flagship was still in orbit and had fired upon the spacecraft that met up with the Society. The Society was less of a concern; their parasites were sticking closer to the base and hadn't started any fires.

Follower stayed on standby, listening to the dialogue between the ring-ship and the aboard crew. Tensions were rising. Although the Federation hadn't tried to contact them yet, they had already proved to be aggressive. At last, the ring-ship made her choice. She began to descend, spinning slowly. So long as the Federation left them alone, they'd be fine. They routed pacifist codes to the Nebula, informing the captain that it was an unoccupied and empty cargo liner on autopilot landing due to a lack of fuel.

Worst-case scenario, they'd be a shot at. Which they were prepared for. The ring-ship withheld a hailing frequency to the captain, only sending periodic low-frequency sounds to the grounded Brakori.
