June King

As the heat filled his lungs and the wind hit his hair, June was starting to feel a little bit better about the day.He couldn't help but think back on what the woman had said and think how peculiar her words were. Why in the world would person come out forward with talk of the cattle sheds. It was odd for someone to go into the politics of the world having just met somebody. Though, when he thought about, he probably came off as odd himself. It didn't matter, wasn't like he was ever going to bump into her again. At least that's what he thought before he was greeted by her presence. He could feel her following him almost as if it was a part of his natural sense. He had hoped she would just pass by him without diving back into, what he would call, an awkward conversation. It was mostly awkward because he wasn't use to talking to people. Not sober anyway. Most people didn't seem to like the man that much. Why would they? June tries his best not to hide in sheep's clothing. He thinks of himself as a monster and honestly didn't mind people treating him as so. However, when people went past that point, on a rare occasion, he wasn't in his comfort zone at all. He didn't like people treating him like something he wasn't. Like his life mattered. When they did, it usually didn't end well for them.

As it seemed, he just wouldn't be able to get off the hook that easily. The woman asked some pretty smart questions, be they odd for the occasion. Even June knew that he had peaked the strangers interest. It wasn't everyday someone come up to you just to ask you what you were doing in town. . . Unless they were the cops of course. Though he didn't want to, his gaze flew over his shoulder to him and his footsteps slowed down and soon she was right next to him.

"You have not answered my questions Sir. If you were not flirting with me what did you want from me?" She spoke with a smirk on her face. June couldn't wonder why it mattered, but he humored her.

"I guess I didn't," he said in a low tone.

"My name is Akira Theron. Please pleasure me with some company for a few more minutes. You don't know how long I have been alone."

A few minutes? He didn't really see why, but he knew that if conversation started the minutes could pass by like a million dollar payment. And how lonely would a person have to want to hang around him? Though, he thought about what he was doing at that moment. Besides murdering a crazed animal at the end of the day, he was completely free. He sighed as he looked up at the sun. Judging by the daylight, it wouldn't be night for hours, meaning he had a lot of time to spare. Though it wasn't just the time he had that made him decide to talk to the girl. It was something inside of him wanting to answer her difficult questions. He didn't know why. Maybe he was lonely himself.

"Well, in no specific order, I do think that this city is better than the sheds. It's better than a lot of things, but the taste this place gives me. It's just one of ignorance. Sure, Neco and Sapien have a chance to make it big here. They can get a job and raise through the ranks together. That part is fine I guess. Though, if you look at situations like that waiter. You so many people are still struggling. Why? Who knows." He took another drag of his cigarette before throwing away the bud and preparing another one. "I do know one thing. It's not anyone's individual fault. It's the wealthy. The government. Same people that make up prices and ranks for people depending on their income. They're the monsters. In my opinion, I'd rather live in the shed then this area. At least there, you see things for what they are. Here they put wool over your eyes and tell you to walk in the direction they make for you."

Lighting his smoke, he put his hands in his pocket and continued to walk. This, act of conversation and walking was starting to bring back a feeling from the past. He didn't like it very much, but what was he going to do? Run away from a woman just because he didn't feel comfortable talking? That really wasn't something he wanted to say he did today.

"These cigarettes are the only thing I can count on. I don't really like them, but they do help the days go by when they're rough. As for why I walked up to you, well, that's just because I could tell you weren't from here. Like I said earlier, you might want to leave town before the morning comes. This place is about to go through something that might be big enough to change how people think. At least some people." He stopped, catching in the fact that he was explaining his job to a complete stranger. At this point, he doubted she was a hunter, but that didn't stop him from going tense. "June... My names June." It probably wasn't something he was used to, but he had began to like talking to someone. He couldn't the remember the last time he had a conversation just to have one.
