Bowen half carried and half pushed Alek to his car, throwing him in the back seat and slamming the door while he listened to Alek's and Claire's words for each other. The car would roar to life a moment later and speed away from the scene unless stopped by Claire or someone else.

Chandler was standing next to Claire and when she started to reach for her gun he laid his hand gently over her weapon. "Ma cheré...", he said almost at a whisper. Blood still dripped from his cheeks where his geist had cut into his skin. It was unlikely he could stop her if she really wanted her gun.
