To say Macie was confused was a giant understatement. First she had pieced together that she died, then a man with an authoritative air began to talk about how they had all killed themselves.
Macie blinked then shook her head.
'T-That's impossible...I wouldn't do that...at least not now.' It was true when Finny had left her she seriously considered taking that final plunge, but she would end up killing her child upon doing so.
Slightly more vigorous she shook her head again. 'I...I did die. I remember that. I was taking my daughter to her daycare and a...a driver was going the wrong way...' Her voice was starting to get shaky and tears pooled at the edge of her eyes.
'They were obviously d-drunk. Who else would d-drive head on in...into traffic like that?' A few gasping breathes were heard before she continued. 'I-I knew I couldn't move so...so I wanted the last thing I see t-to be my daughter!' By now Macie was full on crying into her hands.
'B-but she's alive...right? Cause she's not here with us?' Macie shook her head and took a calming breath. It didn't help much but she did look slightly better although her crying didn't stop. 'No....she's alive. I can't tell...'
Shivering she turned to the man who had appeared after her. 'You shouldn't be so rude to people who killed themselves. You don't know what they had going on. I....I'm sure everyone will understand if we all just...Calm down and let the people who have been here longer speak...'
