I blinked grogilly at Kira after Jade had knocked her back on the bed. "Jade...settle down." I yawned. I was zoning out a little when Kira's soft voice echoed in my ears.
"I think Connor took a step out." I heard the rustling of a piece of paper down on the floor. "Ah, he left a note." I said realizing what the shred of paper was. "It looks like he went out hunting. Hopefully he catches something, we're running out of supplies fast." I sighed as I looked up at the sky through the slats in the ceiling. "Maybe there's some stuff hidden around this building." I said getting up from the makeshift bed. I began rummaging through an antique desk that sat next to the bed. Of course there wasn't much left but I did find one treasure. In the far back of one of the drawers sat an old Pentax 35mm slr camera and some film. The paint on the corners were showing brass. It was obvious this camera was well loved. It was a beautiful piece of machinery, and reminded me of an old camera I used to have before earth went to shit. I turned around and crouched on the floor next to Kira and brought the viewfinder up to my eye. "Smile beautiful." I said as my beautiful companion came into focus. *Click* I laid back down next to her and held the camera above us. *Click*
"You know, it's amazing that after all this...our lives are said and done...this will be all that's left. That is if we can ever get this developed." I chuckled at the thought. "I miss documenting the world like this. I used to love photography. Maybe this is a sign that I should get back into it. After all, someone needs to document this mayhem."
