After a while in the peace and silence, staring at the gun and the bag full of things that must have belonged to other Jennifer, she was starting to doze off. But there was a rustle, and she could almost sense a presence nearby. A pained presence. She slipped from the tree and crouched on the ground, crawling towards the source almost on her belly. She wanted to be sure it wasn't dangerous. Peeking around, she noticed the warrioress on her hands on knees, locked in on herself, in obvious pain. Very dangerous, indeed. It could be nothing. Could be a trap. Could be everything. It was best for her to just go.

But she couldn't leave her in pain. It wasn't fair. She'd left her alive til this moment, so letting someone who had shown her such kindness die was bad. And rude. And unfair. Against her better judgement, the dark-haired girl crept forward, letting herself be known by breathing louder, letting her steps be heard. She cleared her throat, and took a careful breath. "It's only me, Ember," she said, trying to keep her voice steady and clear, "I'm not going to hurt you. I want to help."

She hoped her fear wasn't betrayed in her voice. "I'm not going to touch you if you don't want me to. I just want to try and ease the pain maybe, if I can." With a quiet hum, she slithered a little closer, to be in the woman's eyeline if she looked up. She didn't want to be mistaken for a threat, possibly killed for trying to help.
