Delmy felt a tugging on her sleeve and was surprised when she looked down and saw Ali standing there. She let the cute little boy lead her to the living room. His voice was so soft and sweet, it warmed her heart. And when he pulled her down to sit on her lap, she could barely contain herself. He had warmed up to her after all! She was very happy, and made sure he was snuggled down comfortably as Arturo started reading them the story.
Arturo's voice was clear and passionate as he read to them, and Delmy got lost in his story of the Prince and his ill-fated marriage. It reminded her of Beauty and the Beast, though somehow a little more real. Maybe it was because she had more belief in werewolves and that kind of thing than she did in Disney Princesses. A chill even ran down her spine when Arturo mentioned how his family were the descendants of the Prince in the story. The story was fascinating.
"I wish my family had some interesting history," she commented. "I think the coolest thing is that one of my mom's distant cousins invented the windshield wiper." Delmy let out a little laugh. In her lap, Ali was starting to yawn and she felt one of her own coming on. It wasn't even that late, but she had done a lot of walking around earlier in the day and then running around with DeGari's after dinner.
