There was... a boy. Instantly her muscles tensed, ready to lash out. But he wasn't wearing a Fire Nation uniform, nor was he armed. Openly, he stalked towards her, sending shockwaves through the earth with each step. The rhythm of his footsteps jarred her nerves.
Why hello! The most powerful, the anointed Avatar. . . I see your protector has left you. However. . .
You have nothing to fear from me. In fact! I wanna teach you earthbending.
He knew she was the Avatar, or thought he knew. And he knew about Yuzaka. How many hours had he been watching them?
She didn't like their current positions. He was so close, and looming over her. In a swift motion she rose and stepped back a couple of paces. Her drab, hooded Earth kingdom garb covered her tattoos... unless he'd seen her exposed fists during her meditation? Foolish. How could she have been so careless?!
"I don't know who you are or why you've been following me," she said flatly. "But I'm not the person you're looking for." Though he was obviously an Earthbender, she knew of Earth Kingdom folk who'd turned Air Nomads over to the Fire Nation out of fear or greed. He could be an agent, a bounty hunter, or something else entirely. In these times she had to assume that everyone was dangerous. He looked like a powerful bender, but Earthbenders weren't known for their speed. She should be able to flee, or hold him off until Yuzaku returned. She hoped he would hurry back.
