Two Weeks Earlier

What had become of her life? Raegan sighed heavily as she rose from her desk. Slowly, she took in everything that she'd gotten over the years. She'd started out with nothing..and now look her. The second highest within the company, living in the big city, and never having to worry about anything. What had happened to her life?

A solid knock on the door caused the woman to look up, in its direction. Her assistant slowly opened the door, a note in her arms. "I'm sorry, Ms Insley. Mr. Maddock is here to see you." Raegan nodded and the girl left and allowed their boss to enter. Raegan's eyes fell to his form. He was a handsome man. One that you could so easily fall for. However, he was not one to give up anything that he already had.

Which brought us to the current problem. Raegan loved Grayson and he said that he returned the feelings. He simply would not leave his wife for her though. She just couldn't understand it. The man locked the door behind him, slowly making his way over to Raegan. She watched his movements, her eyes never leaving him. "Ms. Insley...Raegan...you look most lovely today." His words were covered with honey and the woman allowed herself to find happiness in them.

She knew that he likely would never leave her but that didn't change her feelings for him. He'd been her first friend when she'd first come to New York. She remained silent, watching as he moved to her, gently pushing her against the desk. His hand came up, cupping her cheek. Only a moment later, his lips were upon her own. Together, their lips moved as if in a dance.

His hands roamed her body and she allowed it. She could not deny him that which he wanted. Within moments, they were both unclothed and she was shoved onto the desk as he continued his assault. The phone suddenly rang. The couple broke apart slightly, Grayson speaking. "Ignore it." He breathed against her lips. She smiled at him, placing a light kiss upon his lips. "You know that I can't do that." She said.

She reached over to the phone, picking it up and bringing the receiver up to her ear. She spoke to the other person on the phone, a sudden seriousness coming over her face. Slowly, she put the phone back on the hook. Grayson seemed to take note of her sudden change in mood. "What is it?" He asked her softly. Raegan's eyes suddenly moved to the man, tears slowly filling her eyes. "It's one of my closest friends...he's...dead."

Present Day

The moment that she'd found out about Chris, Raegan had made plans to attend his funeral. She could not imagine missing it for anything. It was tearing her in two. She regretted not speaking to him much since she'd moved. Not that she'd spoken to any of her old friends. She'd simply been far too busy. She was a horrible person.

That morning, Raegan had gotten dressed and had done her hair. Only once she felt that she looked presentable did she head out of the hotel and down to the car that Grayson had rented for her. The door was opened for her and she got in.

Only a moment later did they pull out into the street and heading towards the church. It didn't take long before they'd arrived. The door was opened for her and she slowly got out. She then headed up the steps and entered the building. There were many there already as she had been running a bit late. However, she just made it. She made her way over to an empty seat. Slowly, she removed her sunglasses, turning her eyes to the front.

She'd easily spotted her old friends though she sat closest to Spencer. She missed them all terribly and it broke her heart that Chris's death was what had brought them together once again. She was trying her hardest not to cry. She didn't want to ruin her makeup, after all. Chris would have understood. That thought alone nearly caused her to loose it.

He would pay. Pay for getting him sent to jail for the past three years. Stupid fucking asshole. Victor stood, receiving his belongings. A plain shirt, pants, shoes, and his phone. That was all. He simply took his things and then headed down the hall. He made a stop at the bathroom and was quick to change before heading outside and into the open. It felt as if it had been forever since he'd been free. It..felt..wonderful.

A darkly colored car was waiting on him and so Victor went to it, getting in. He sat next to his father in the back seat as their driver took over. "You need to relax, Victor. There will be plenty of time for revenge later on. We need to have a serious talk." The older man said.

Victor couldn't say that he liked the way that his father was speaking. "I got a phone call that was for you a day ago. Some boy by the name of Chris passed away. I remember that you used to be close to a Chris." Chris was dead? How could that be? Victor simply couldn't believe it. He remained silent, looking out the window.

If Chris was gone from the world, what hope was there left? They'd been best friends..the only reason that Chris was still in one piece. His father continued to speak, telling him when the funeral was. Yet, he couldn't hear him. He'd gone numb. His father seemed to take notice of this and had gone silent as well.

The drive to their home seemed to take forever. Though, as the care finally game to a stop, Victor was glad. He was quick to get out of the car, heading quickly inside. He didn't bother finding his mother. He would see her later on in the day. He needed to figure out what he was going to do in the following weeks. He knew that he would have to go to the funeral. There was no way that he would miss it.

Present Day

The morning of the funeral, Victor was up quite early. He'd simply not been able to sleep. He'd finally given up and had gotten ready. Once he was happy with his looks, he headed down the stairs and out the door silently. The man had gotten into his car and headed in the direction of the church.

The drive seemed to take forever and Victor didn't rightfully care for it. He just wanted to be there already. At last, he pulled in and parked. Getting out of the car, the young man slowly made his way up the steps and into the church. He walked through the building until he found a seat, taking it. He ignored everything around him, simply focusing upon the casket that was at the front. It was still unbelievable that his friend was laying within it.

A few moments passed and the door opened a final time when Raegan entered the building. He did not bother trying to get her attention. It was clear that she was preoccupied..as was he as he thought about it. He was trying to hold in the tears. He didn't like showing such emotion and especially in front of so many people. The funeral began, a minister speaking and Victor forced himself to tune into the man's words. Victor ran a hand over the side of his face and slowly began playing with his lip ring as the service continued.
