Luras shifted in his chair.
His father looked proud, his betrothed looked sad yet strong, his brother looked jealous, and his sister looked bored... until she let out a yawn. Not very large or noticeable, but when she excused herself, Luras nearly groaned. His sister acted so... improper. He knew princesses weren't as important, and Lucille resented that, but he wished she could at least deal with it when the most important people in Sevaviel were visiting. He noticed his mother frown, and was surprised that his parents didn't go after her.
"How have you been Luras?" Emmaline queried, snatching his attention back to their conversation. "Oh, sorry Emmaline. Pardon my distracted nature today. My mind has been a restless wanderer as of late." Giving her a sheepish grin, he proceeded to attempt catching up.
"My life has been fairly normal, but I suppose the little bumps make it worthwhile. Like a week ago, I was on a bear hunt, I even have he scar to prove..." Luras trailed off, realizing that a hunt and scars weren't very 'royal' topics of discussion, nor were they topics Luras could see Emmaline interested in.
"Anyway, nothing much has happened. I suppose letters may sound much more exciting..." Luras had missed talking to Emmaline. However, his mind was stuck on his other love, and he couldn't seem to tear it away.
"I would love to go to the gardens... If you'll have us?" He smiled at his mum, mentally thanking her a million times over. A stroll would require slightly less conversation, and he could finally get moving. Luras was awfully jumpy today. Looking over at his betrothed, he nodded when she agreed. "A stroll it is then?"
