Zoey smiled at Aaron, of course she remembered how he used to be, the guy she fell in love with all those years ago, but she also knew that people changed. "Alright, I'll see you tonight." She said with a nod of her head before walking out of the office. She got in her car, picked Alison up from school and headed back to the house to get them both ready for the dinner. She told Ally that her boss wanted to take them out to dinner, a work thing, but that was all she said about Aaron.
A few hours later, they had arrived back at the office, Ally was wearing the same thing she'd worn to school, her hair done in a French braid and Zoey was wearing a simple pair of jeans and a tank top. Ally smiled at Aaron, "I'm Ally," She said happily, when he gave her the Barbie, her face lit up. "Oh, wow, thank you!" She exclaimed. Zoey bit her bottom lip, a small frown tugging on her lips. "You shouldn't have." She said quietly, closing the box he'd given her. She knew it had to have cost quite a bit, especially the gift he'd given to her, and she didn't want things to get complicated.
"What did you get mommy?" Ally asked, taking the box from her mother and opening it curiously. "Oooooo," She said in amazement, watching the way the diamonds sparkled. "You must really like my mommy, huh?" She said matter-of-factly as she closed the box, giving it back to Zoey, looking up at Aaron. "Alison!" Zoey chided, causing the little girl to look at her surprised. "Well, isn't that what the guys do in the movies you watch mommy? When they like a girl they give them stuff like that?" Ally asked, which caused Zoey to blush. "Well, yes, sweety, but this isn't a movie. And Mr. Grey, is just my boss." She said, giving Aaron a pointed look to remind him that she had agreed to this on the terms that it was going to be boss and employee, nothing more.
