Jane's frown was close to becoming a pout when Sienna basically stated the last thing that she wanted to hear. She wasn't going to make the initiative to make up with Sydney. But that's not fair! she so desperately wanted to interject, as if she was the victim in all of this. And as much as Jane knew that all of this had hurt Sienna and Sydney in more ways than she could understand, she felt like it was hurting her too. It was hard being friends with Sydney and Sienna when they were friends, and being friends with them separately had already proved to be emotionally draining. Sienna was dramatic and emotional like she was, and that suggested that she could probably hold a grudge against Sydney for as long as necessary. Especially considering what that grudge stood for. But Sienna had a heart that wasn't frozen over like Sydney's. Even though Jane knew that Sydney wasn't as cold as everyone saw her to be, Jane knew that in a case like this, Sydney could and would permanently cut Sienna off if that's what it took to keep her image in tact. It didn't matter if it was hurting herself or Jane, as long as her position on the social ladder remain unscathed, she didn't doubt that Sydney wouldn't budge over it. It wasn't fair, and Jane was ready to selfishly claim that, until Victoria Walsh appeared.
Jane didn't really know Victoria. It was a strange thing to say, considering that the girls had attended the same elementary, middle and high school, so realistically speaking, they had plenty of time to get to know each other. To be honest, if Sydney hadn't shot Victoria down when they were young, there was a chance that Jane would have liked her. She was wealthy and at least since they were teenagers, she was pretty. She was smart too, and like Jane bugged Charlotte over, she probably would have proven herself as a good "study buddy" on test days. It spoke to the side of Jane that was too dependent on Sydney, because Jane had only axed Tori as a potential friend because Sydney had. She claimed she was obsessive and stalkerish, and with Sydney's disapproval, Jane had no qualms about finding her own issues with the girl. She had never given her a fair chance, and although Victoria didn't want to be friends with Jane, she didn't know that.
Just because she was suddenly growing a little bit more independent from Sydney didn't mean that she could shake all of her bad habits at once, though. So, when Victoria approached, Jane barely gave her a smile and came close to glaring at Sienna when it was revealed that she had invited her over with them. Of all people... Victoria Walsh? Sia really is going crazy without Syd... She was too busy judging Victoria to hear Sienna's first compliment, but zoned back in when Sienna said her name. "Uh huh..." she agreed in an obviously unconvinced tone, all while flashing Sienna a "what are you doing?" look. Angelina JOLIE? Okay then, Sienna... She didn't know the background behind Sienna and Victoria's relationship but this... whatever this was, mixed with her hangover, seeing Piper talking to Carolina in the distance and instantly thinking the redhead was confiding in Carolina about their drugs, and how she was upset over Sienna's refusal to makeup with Sydney and vice versa, was definitely putting her on edge. It was enough to make her pull out her phone to text Sydney once the room began to grow quiet as the luncheon began.
